We went to a Taylor Swift party (which was AMAZING) at the 9:30 Club on 1-23-26. First the good: it’s a really cool place with a good vibe, there was a variety of food & drinks, there was a big dance floor + a huge balcony, the bathrooms were clean, the staff was great.
Here’s the bad: their website gives parking info as a lot 4-5 blocks away. We believed them that that was the best place, and parked there for $28. The REALITY is that there is a lot literally across the street - 8 steps away from the club (& in a way better neighborhood than where we parked) - for $25. Also we passed 2 other closer cheaper lots between the club and where we parked. Super obnoxious that they lied. And we did not feel safe walking back there after midnight.
Updated 9/07/23: This place is still the best concert venue in the city, but sadly they've changed their food menu following the pandemic, and it's just not as good. They used to have a wide range of tasty sandwiches and other things, but they've narrowed it down to just tacos and nachos which sadly aren't very good. I still get them when I'm desperate for something to eat at an after-work show, but as tacos go they leave a lot to be desired. Cupcakes, luckily, are still as badass as ever.

My favorite concert venue in the DC area, and possibly anywhere. A venue with real food, a coffee bar, a close balcony, upstairs seating, and gourmet cupcakes?! Yes please!!!
P.S. Get there early if you want one of the best cupcakes ever -- they only have like a dozen at each show!
This is an intimate venue with clean restrooms and quick service for drinks. The music sounded great and I would recommend ear plugs. If you want to be close to the stage or grab a railing spot upstairs be sure to arrive early
